Our life’s journey brought us to Westfield Croft in the winter of 2015; we now keep a gaggle of poultry, have started to grow vegetables for our own sustenance and have a small breeding flock of British rare breed sheep (Boreray and Hebridean breeds).

The croft has been divided into paddocks and gardens, and when we moved here, had two overgrown hazel and willow coppices. We have resurrected the coppices to produce useful crops of willow for use in crafts and as fodder for the sheep.

2021 will hopefully see bees flying on the croft with the introduction of three hives. Our goal is to be as sustainable as possible in terms of food and fuel to enhance the raw materials of wool and willow that we harvest from the Croft.
